Conserve water when washing car

  • Water hoses can deliver a whopping 9 gallons per minute; good quality water hoses even more.
  • Try this: Instead of running the hose, fill a bucket with soapy water to wash the car.
  • Select an eco-friendly soap and if you use microfiber cloths (found in auto supply departments and stores), you can save money and water. A microfiber cloth absorbs a large volume of water; one cloth can replace several towels.
  • To rinse, use the same method as soaping or use a high pressure spray nozzle on the hose.
  • Wash your car where excess water drains to grass or landscape.
