Use porous materials for walkways

  • Use porous, pervious materials for outdoor walkways like sidewalks and driveways.
  • This will allow rainwater to soak into the ground instead of adding to stormwater runoff which picks up toxins as it runs off fertilized lawns, automobile oil from driveways and other lifestyle pollutants. Stormwater runoff eventually gets dumped into Sarasota Bay.
  • For more information: This site explains the benefits and how it works.  Toolbase services explains different types of pervious pavements.
