Check for leaks in the lawn & home irrigation system

  • An irrigation system with pressure set at 60 pounds per square inch that has a leak the thickness of a dime can waste about 6,300 gallons of water per month.
  • To test for leaks: Shut off the anti-siphon valve that serves your sprinkler system. Check the red flow-indicator triangle at the water meter. If the flow indicator stopped moving, the sprinkler system is the problem.
